Purpose: The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of anime on the prevalence of Japanese popular culture among Art and Design students. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study employed a questionnaire-based quantitative survey of 186 college students enrolled in arts and design programmes at three higher education institutions. Five Likert-scale questionnaires were utilised to collect the data, which was subsequently analysed using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Findings: The majority of respondents had rather limited time to watch anime. This is due to the time constraints for completing their tasks and projects. That was proven by the low average viewing rate of anime among respondents. The findings showed only 39 respondents watched anime for more than 6 hours and above, while the majority of 147 others, or 79%, watched anime for 5 hours and below in a week. Nevertheless, the influence of Japanese popular culture still has a significant impact on this study, even at low and moderate levels. Conclusion: This study found that anime has managed to spread the influence of Japanese popular culture among respondents despite being weak and moderate. This result was also due to the low frequency of watching anime. The data may be different if the average frequency of watching anime is high. Research Limitations: This study is limited to art and design students only. For future studies, it is recommended that studies be conducted on other majors to find the difference in results. Contribution to Literature: This study may add to the literature of relatively understudied anime-related studies, especially in Malaysia.

Proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar khususnya pada muatan pembelajaran IPS belum terlaksana secara optimal, di mana pembelajaran hanya mengacu pada satu buku sumber belajar sebagai tolak ukur dalam belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning berbantuan media yang diproyeksikan terhadap kompetensi pengetahuan IPS siswa kelas V SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain eksperimen semu menggunakan rancangan kelompok non-equivalent control group design. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas V SD dengan jumlah siswa 418 orang. Sampel ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas V SD. Data kompetensi pengetahuan IPS dikumpulkan melalui metode tes dalam bentuk pilihan ganda biasa. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis dengan statistik inferensial (uji-t) yang diperoleh hasil t-hitung=5,46 dan t-tabel=2,00 pada taraf signifikansi 5% dengan dk=57. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa t-hitung=5,46 > t-tabel=2,00, sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan media yang diproyeksikan terhadap kompetensi pengetahuan IPS siswa kelas V SD. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang diajarkan.

Vocabulary is a key element in Arabic to enable pupils to comprehend the teaching and learning concept in the classroom effectively. Nevertheless, the achievement of Arabic vocabulary among students in Malaysia Primary School is still not satisfactory and at a moderate level. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the effects of using comics on the achievement of Arabic vocabulary. In addition, the study also aimed to look at the comparison of effects between the experimental group and the control group in the post-test through the using of comics on the achievement of pupils' Arabic vocabulary. This study is a quasi-experimental design through a quantitative approach by using pre-test and post-tests. The sample selected in this study consisted of 34 pupils of standard five of a school. The sample is divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group used comics modules in teaching and learning, while the control group used conventional methods. The findings found that there were significant differences in pupils' vocabulary achievement before and after the teaching and learning were carried out using comics modules. In addition, the teaching and learning methods of using comics have a significant difference than conventional methods in helping and improving the achievement of students' vocabulary. As a result, comics modules are one of the suitable materials for application in the field of education.
