Pengendalian Hama dan Penyakit Utama Tebu (Saccharum officinarum L.) di PT PG Rajawali II Jatitujuh Majalengka

Abstract: Pest and disease monitoring aim to determine the type, sign/symptoms, and intensity of attacks. The rat (Bandicota indica), stem borer (chilo sacchariphagus Bojer), and shoot borer (Scirpophaga excerptalis Walker) place major constraints on a sugarcane plantation in PT PG Rajawali Jatitujuh Majalengka districts. The intensity of attacks (IS) of these pests reached 8.6%, 1.26%, and 0.86%, respectively. The intensity of rats reached as high as more than 5%. Shoot borer and stem borer attack are low under 5%. The… Show more

“…In Indonesia, S. excerptalis is frequently cited as one of the most signi cant "pests" of sugarcane, capable of causing 50-70% economic damage (Pawirosemadi, 2011). The rate of top borer infestation in Java's sugarcane crops has uctuated between locations and sugarcane varieties during the past two years (Muliasari and Trilaksono, 2021). Except for varieties with a low tolerance level for this insect infestation, the incidence of top borer infestation, as shown by dead heart symptoms, was normally less than 5% .…”

“…In general, the level of shoot borer infestation, which is indicated by dead heart symptoms, is less than 5%, especially in tolerant sugarcane varieties [7,8]. One of the reasons for the low infestation of S. excerptalis is due to the role of its natural enemies as an efficient biotic mortality factor.…”
