Vegetative propagation by cut-grafting has the advantage of being able to obtain seeds that inherit two superior traits from two scion clones in a relatively short time. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of using orthotropic and plagiotropic rootstocks applied by Bacillus and Pseudomonas on the early growth of robusta coffee seedlings from cut grafting. The method used was by using a completely randomized factorial design with 2 factors and was repeated 3 times. The first factor was the use of rootstock cuttings which consisted of 2 levels, which were S1 (orthotropic stem) and S2 (plagiotropic stem). The second factor was the concentration of Bacillus and Pseudomonas which consisted of 5 levels, which were B0 (0 ml/L), B1 (20 ml/L), B2 (40 ml/L), B3 (60 ml/L) and B4 (80 ml/L). The results showed that (1) there was no interaction between the use of variatic rootstock and the application of the biological agent (2) The use of orthotropic rootstock increased plant growth, that is the number of primary roots and the number of leaves and (3) Application of the biological agent of Bacillus and Pseudomonas with concentrations of B4 increased seedling growth on all observed parameters except the number of shoots. Based on the results of this research, the benefit for coffee planters is to obtain alternative planting materials, namely from orthotropic branches. For further research, the use of orthotropic branch planting material as a scion plant can be investigated.

Javanese konjac or iles-iles (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume, Araceae) is a tuber crop native to Indonesia as a source of carbohydrat, also contains a lot of glucomannan, which has high economic value as a raw material in industry. The study aimed to develop the propagation method of A. muelleri from bulbils and leaf cuttings through the plant growth regulator (PGR) application of α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) and benziladenin (BA). The research was conducted from August 2020 to December 2021 at IPB University, Bogor. The study consisted of three experiments based on the type of propagation material. Each experiment used a randomized complete block design with three factors, i.e., NAA concentrations (0, 2, and 4 mg L-1), BA concentrations (0, 5, 10, and 15 mg L-1), and propagation materials (Experiment 1: small, medium, large bulbils; Experiment 2: immature and mature peak leaflet cuttings; Experiment 3: immature and mature base leaflet cuttings). The results showed that there was an interaction of three factors in the bulbils and PGR application, which had a significant effect on the percentage of axillary shoot proliferation and growth. In Experiment 2, PGR application was unable to regenerate peak leaflet cuttings, whereas in Experiment 3 PGR encouraged base leaflet cuttings to form shoots, roots, and bulbils, especially at concentrations of 2 mg L-1 NAA+15 mg L-1 BA and 4 mg L-1 NAA+15 mg L-1 BA. Pamelo (Citrus maxima (Burm) Merr.) sangat potensial untuk dikembangakan karena memiliki karateristik yang khas. Pamelo (Citrus maxima) merupakan salah satu tanaman buah yang dapat diperbanyak dengan perbanyakan vegetatif cangkok. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh panjang keratan terhadap keberhasilan cangkok dan memperoleh informasi mengenai panjang keratan optimal dalam mencangkok tanaman jeruk pamelo. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Cikabayan, Departemen Agronomi dan Hortikultura, Fakultas Pertanian IPB dan Laboratorium Pasca Panen IPB dari Februari hingga Juni 2022. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Kelompok Lengkap Teracak (RKLT) faktor tunggal pengaruh panjang keratan diantaranya 1,5 cm, 3 cm, 4,5 cm, dan 6 cm. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata antar perlakuan pada variabel pengamatan jumlah daun muda cangkok, luas daun total cangkok, tingkat kehijauan daun, bobot basah akar, panjang akar rata-rata, dan jumlah tunas setelah pindah tanam. Panjang keratan 6 cm menunjukkan nilai beberapa parameter pengamatan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnnya, walaupun demikian secara umum pada kenyataannya panjang keratan 1,5 cm, 3 cm, 4,5 cm, dan 6 cm merupakan panjang keratan yang cukup optimal karena menghasilkan persentase hidup yang tinggi, baik saat masih berada pada pohon induk maupun setelah ditanam ke dalam polibag.
