Penerapan Pemodelan Tabel dan Diagram untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Aljabar Siswa SD

Abstract

This research is based on the importance of algebraic thinking skills that must be mastered by elementary school students. Algebraic thinking facilitates students to solving the problems with their own strategies. The ability to think algebraicly can be accustomed since early elementary school's age even though students have not received algebra formaly. The habituation can be done by sorting out elementary school material that has the potential to be used as learning which is an algebraic prerequisite for the next level. Thus the need for a learning that can improve the algebraic thinking ability of elementary school students. This research is a continuation of didactical design research on algebraic thinking. This study uses an experimental method with a quasi type. The population selected was fourth grade of elementary school students in Bekasi City. The sample used was a group of Fourth gtrade in SD Negeri Teluk Pucung 1 students, namely class A and class D as many as 40 students who had certain similar characteristics. Researchers will apply the learning design modeling tables and diagrams in learning. The design was designed with regard to students' learning obstacles that were discovered and analyzed and traced through interviews. In addition, learning design is also designed with regard to learning trajectory of material and diagrams from concrete to abstract concepts. The learning design is implemented and seen its influence in improving students' algebraic thinking skills.
