Gorontalo City is a developing city, has several public spaces to support all community activities, such as city parks, street corners, markets, terminals and buildings. As one of the efforts to provide public open space, the Simpang Lima Roundabout Area was built which has a positive impact on the development of regional and surrounding activities, the existence of this area is experiencing congestion caused by several factors, such as traffic density, the emergence of formal activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of utilization of public open space at the Simpang Lima Roundabout. This study uses a positivistic paradigm with a descriptive qualitative approach supported by survey methods. The results showed that this pattern of open space utilization occurred in a circular or radial manner and linearly followed the circulation path, the use of open space at the intersection of five detected was shopping, meeting and chatting. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk mempromosikan pemanfaatan ruang terbuka sebagai taman gembira anak di Kelurahan Serua. Sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk mengajak masyarakat dan pemerintah setempat untuk menyadari pentingnya memiliki ruang terbuka yang layak dan aman untuk bermain anak-anak. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini melibatkan kegiatan workshop dan diskusi dengan masyarakat dan petugas pemerintah. Dalam workshop tersebut, anak-anak ikut serta untuk memberikan aspirasi dan harapan mereka terkait dengan taman gembira anak yang ideal. Masyarakat juga diajak untuk merancang konsep taman gembira anak yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan lokal dan keamanannya. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah adanya peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya ruang terbuka bagi anak-anak. Masyarakat juga berhasil mengidentifikasi potensi lahan yang dapat dijadikan taman gembira anak di Kelurahan Serua. Selain itu, terbentuknya komitmen dari pemerintah setempat untuk melanjutkan implementasi taman gembira anak sesuai dengan hasil diskusi bersama masyarakat. Keberlanjutan dari pengabdian ini adalah melibatkan masyarakat dalam proses pembangunan taman gembira anak yang telah direncanakan. Diharapkan pemerintah akan menggunakan rancangan konsep yang disusun oleh masyarakat dan melibatkan mereka dalam pembangunan taman tersebut.

Faced with mounting environmental issues, the convergence of religious beliefs and ecological consciousness appears as a critical domain for long-term solutions. This article examines environmental education via an Islamic lens, revealing the rich tapestry of environmental lessons woven within Islamic tradition. As global challenges such as climate change, deforestation, and pollution worsen, varied cultural and religious viewpoints become increasingly important for comprehensive understanding. Islam, as a holistic way of life, uniquely defines humanity’s interaction with the natural world, providing direction through the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad’s teachings. This research looks on the ethical foundations of Islamic environmentalism, focusing on stewardship, interconnectedness, and moderation. It goes on to look at practical applications of environmental sustenance in everyday life, with a focus on water conservation, sustainable agriculture, and ethical consumption. The research also looks into the emotional well-being promoted by Islamic environmental education, focusing on mindfulness, purpose, and coping methods. Finally, the importance of Islamic environmental education in community involvement and social cohesion is examined, highlighting its ability to motivate collective action and develop links among various populations. This research contributes to a worldwide conversation on sustainable practises, across cultural and religious divides and establishing a shared commitment to environmental stewardship.
