There is large demand for better fuel economy on vehicles, researching different hybrid methods is necessary. The objective of this research is to use clean fuel for transportation like hydrogen & solar energy and to reduce the drawbacks of fossil fuels. The main drawback of fossil fuels is that they produce Green-house gases, non-sustainable, and having higher cost. The awareness for the environment has induced the development of different types of electric vehicles. While hydrogen & solar both are free in nature, sustainable energy, and are having zero emissions. These vehicles will be quite and eco-friendly without losing the power or range of the actual ones. We propose a hybrid energy system which combines both solar panel and hydrogen gas which will be a better alternative for conventional source of power generation to run the vehicle. All the more critically, there is poor air quality related with fossil fuel burning and the approaching issue of man-made environmental change. Due to this reality it is essential that we create transportation strategies so that we don't depend on fossil fuel as the primary source.

Sate of charge (SOC) accurate estimation is one of the most important functions in a battery management system for battery packs used in electrical vehicles. This paper focuses on battery SOC estimation and its issues and challenges by exploring different existing estimation methodologies. The key technologies of lithium-ion battery state estimation methodologies of the electrical vehicles categorized under five groups, such as the conventional method, adaptive filter algorithm, learning algorithm, nonlinear observer, and the hybrid method, are explored in an in-depth analysis. Lithium-ion battery characteristic, battery model, estimation algorithm, and cell unbalancing are the most important factors that affect the accuracy and robustness of SOC estimation. Finally, this paper concludes with the challenges of SOC estimation and suggests other directions for possible research efforts.

This paper proposes a novel hybrid fuzzy-PID controller for air supply on Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) systems. The control objective is to adjust the oxygen excess ratio at a given setpoint in order to prevent oxygen starvation and damage of the fuel-cell stack. The proposed control scheme consists of three parts: a fuzzy-logic controller (FLC), a fuzzy-based self-tuned PID (FSTPID) controller and a fuzzy selector. Depending on the value of the error between the current value of oxygen excess ratio and its setpoint value, the fuzzy selector decides which controller should play the greatest effect on the control system. The performance of the proposed control strategy is analysed through simulations for different load variations and for parameter uncertainties. The results show that the novel hybrid fuzzy-PID controller performs significantly better than the classical PID controller and the FLC in terms of several key performance indices such as the Integral Squared Error (ISE), the Integral Absolute Error (IAE) and the Integral Time-weighted Absolute Error (ITAE), as well as the overshoot, settling and rise time for the closed-loop control system.
