Pelvic inflammatory disease in postmenopausal women: Diagnostic difficulties and management in an underprivileged environment, a case report from the University Hospital of Yaoundé – Cameroon (Update)

Abstract: Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), or more specifically upper genital infections, includes uterine and adnexal infections. These are infections secondary to the ascent of germs from the vagina through the cervix. Their particularity is their paucisymptomatic or even asymptomatic character. Although quite common in women of childbearing age, they remain exceptional in postmenopausal women.
