The development of the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan Province was an important turning point in Indonesia's development model. As one of its close neighbors, Gorontalo Province has great potential to contribute to developing IKN. Cohesion between Gorontalo Province and IKN is key to achieving its socio-economic development goals. However, Gorontalo Province still faces problems in economic development, public services, and MSMEs, including slow local economic development, inadequate infrastructure, low community competitiveness, high levels of poverty, and socio-economic problems. This study aims to analyze the problems and potential of the Gorontalo Provincial Government in its contribution and cohesion to the socio-economic development of IKN. Through a well-being methodology (WM) approach combining qualitative and quantitative approaches, three main dimensions are emphasized: perception, participation and community acceptability of competitive strategies to provide a holistic and participatory understanding of welfare aspects. The study found that the people of Gorontalo have a positive view of IKN, with the hope that the Gorontalo Provincial Government can strengthen its contribution through improving the quality of human resources, infrastructure and economic competitiveness to support the socio-economic development of IKN. Interestingly, most respondents were generation Z. This shows that most of Gorontalo's young generation were involved in this research. In essence, the Gorontalo Provincial Government faces challenges in its contribution and cohesion to the socio-economic development of IKN, with low levels of public participation and a lack of public understanding of the benefits of development. Therefore, intensive efforts are needed in socialization, education, and public involvement to increase participation and strengthen the IKN development process. The Gorontalo Provincial Government is advised to design an integrated competitive strategy, focusing on increasing public perception through socialization, building trust, fostering public participation, and increasing the acceptability of IKN development.

Penelitian ini ingin mengurai kehidupan masyarakat Komunitas Adat Terpencil dengan melihat kekuatan modal social mereka, Peneliti melihat modal social sebagai sumber kekuatan masyarakat Adat Terpencil dapat menjadi wadah dalam mengatur untuk kepentingan bersama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus dengan teknik pengumpulan data utama adalah wawancara mendalam. Selain itu, peneliti juga menggunakan teknik pengumpulan observasi dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori modal social Putnam sebagai pisau analisis. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa masyarakat komunitas adat terpencil memiliki modal social yakni kepercayaan, jaringan dan norma. Pada kepercayaan masyarakat berusaha membangun kepercayaan antar masyarakat karena merasa merupakan satu kesatuan yang tentunya di dukung dengan jaringan yang dibangun dengan kerabat dekat. Mereka lebih memilih untuk berkomunikasi atau berjejaring dengan orang-orang yang sudah dikenal karena memudahkan mereka dalam bekerjasama. Terakhir norma yang dibangun yakni ada kesepakatan timbal balik antar masyarakat, yakni untuk saling membantuk yang dikenal dengan sistim huyula.

Utilization of social capital is considered capable of addressing conflicts that arise in rural areas, especially those related to tourist areas that are part of community empowerment programs. This study examines the crucial role of social capital in dealing with conflicts arising from the transition from the tourism sector to mining in Pangkal Niur Village. This study used qualitative methods. The analysis results depict in-depth how social capital significantly mitigates conflicts between the tourism and mining sectors. The implications of this social capital are also highlighted in the context of modernization and globalization, especially concerning the local community in Pangkal Niur Village. Additionally, this research emphasizes the importance of social relationships in forming the basis of trust, cooperation, and community participation. In the context of post-mining land restoration efforts, sustainable actions are crucial to reduce environmental damage caused by such functional changes, especially in regions with significant mining sectors like Bangka Belitung. The findings of this research have broad implications, especially in environmental management and sustainable development. The study concludes that social capital can play a role in resolving conflicts, but continuous efforts are still needed to preserve the environment and enhance community well-being.
