This study analyses implication of COVID- 19 pandemics in the agricultural sector of Turkey. In the study taken measures in the sector are considered. The focus of the paper is twofold. The first objective is to take a glance at COVID 19, how it started, and how affected sectors or businesses. This aim supported by the literature review which is getting a shape recently, on the grounds founded papers were limited. It can be seen that generally all countries suffered from the same problems apart from the countries sectors have problems in common. Lastly, we tried to focus on the agricultural sector especially in Turkey and we presented precautions taken agricultural sector in Turkey. In addition to this to the objective, we tried to synthesize all our findings and present suggestions in case this process prolonged. The originality of the paper comes from it is the first study that draws a general outline for Turkey’s agricultural sector considering the pandemic.

The purpose of this research is to determine and analyze the opinions of consumers in Türkiye on agricultural and food products sectors during and post pandemic, the points they pay attention to while purchasing agricultural and food products, and their degree of satisfaction with their place of living. The main material of the research consists of the data collected by means of an online survey conducted on the consumers (n=1945) living in Türkiye. The data obtained were used to present their socio-demographic structure with frequency distributions. In addition, a chi square test was conducted to analyze the relationship between their opinions on agricultural and food products sectors during and post pandemic and their demographic characteristics. 5-point Likert scale was employed to demonstrate their attitudes and opinions. According to the results of the research, consumers strongly agreed that agricultural and food products’ prices had increased during the pandemic. 61.9% of the consumers strongly agreed that agricultural and food products’ prices had increased during the pandemic. 60.5% of the consumers indicated they wanted to live in a rural area during the pandemic. The relationship between consumers’ opinions on agricultural and food sectors and most socio-demographic characteristics was found to be significant for the period of pandemic and thereafter. This study may be useful in to predict the change of food and agricultural products consumer demand in post-pandemic.

U NDOUBTEDLY, COVID-19 pandemic is one of the most devastating pandemics in the recent era and major problem for sustainability of life. This virus has severely impacted both environmental and human health. Moreover, it has become the top priority among other challenging global issues including pollution, climate change, urbanization, and unsustainable consumption, which have led to major environmental disturbances and biodiversity loss. The COVID-19 may have long-lasting impacts on the environment health, biodiversity, and soil security, consequently, will raising several scientific questions to be investigated in near future including the expected environmental impacts of COVID-19 on soil, water and air, connecting the missing links between environmental pollutions and COVID-19. Most importantly, unraveling the role of soil in spreading or reducing transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic, and soil xenobiotics status under the COVID-19 outbreak. Understanding theprojected management scenario of soil and freshwater pollution in the post-COVID-19 era and the potential impact of COVID-19 on food and soil security would be of immense aid in the preparation of future pandemics. This opinion article aims to analyze and foresee some of the major issues for meeting the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.
