Abstract: Background. During the growth of complex multicellular organisms, chronological age, size, and morphology change together in a hierarchical and coordinated pattern. Among extinct species, the growth of Tyrannosaurus rex has received repeated attention through quantitative analyses of relative maturity and chronological age.
