“…Even for back illumination, the optimized Co–20 device displayed a power density of 75.0 μW·cm –2 at 1000 lx (88.1 μW·cm –2 for the front illumination), rivaling the best results for cobalt- and copper-mediated DSSCs. , The results are attractive for constructing bifacial devices, i.e. , operating in conditions where both sides are illuminated simultaneously.…”

“…One of the critical observations in this study is that the device with the highest photocurrent under 1 Sun (I 2 –20) yields almost the same photocurrent as other devices (I 2 –50 and Co–20) under artificial light. This is related to the lower recombination under low irradiance, while under high irradiance, back-electron recombination becomes one of the PCE limiting factors . At weak illumination conditions, the ability of the device to generate high photovoltage becomes decisive for overall device performance, as observed by the PCE under 1 Sun and 1000 lx of back illumination for I 2 –20 and I 2 –50 devices.…”
