“…Shifting care from inpatient services to community not only refers to prioritizing returning hospitalized individuals to the community once someone is receiving mental health care, but also promoting that mental health care remains delivered in the community as much as possible. Many of the studies in this current review revealed that focusing primarily on health services in considering community‐based care does entail an upstream approach, and systems need to concentrate on strengthening communities and dissemination of evidence‐based preventive programs across a range of family, school, and community settings (Pinder‐Amaker & Bell., 2012; Cullins et al., 2016; Power, 2010). In this way, community‐based mental health care and community‐based mental health promotion are both valuable approaches in terms of transforming our current approaches to youth mental health.…”
