“…The distribution of lysozyme that has been found in fish mucus, serum and tissues rich in leucocytes such as kidney, spleen, thymus and liver (Ellis ) is different in the fish body. The lysozyme enzyme was analysed in the kidney, spleen and liver of in 8 fish species of order Gadiformes and Pleuronectiformes (Subbotkina & Subbotkin ). The cods (Gadiformes) are characterized by very low level of the enzyme activity in some organs while the flatfish (Pleuronectiformes) showed diversity and distribution of lysozyme in the organs.…”
