The article focuses on the legal aspects of innovations and intellectual property. The relevance of the study arises from the fact that innovations are increasingly affecting human life. At the same time, the issue of copyright is quite acute since intellectual property in the modern information space is a resource that must be protected very carefully. Therefore, the legal aspects of innovations and intellectual property require a comprehensive study. The following research methods were employed in this paper: description, analysis and synthesis, comparison, generalization, and modeling. The article describes the importance of innovations at the present stage. It defines the essence of the "innovations" concept. The authors reviewed normative legal acts representing the legal aspects of innovation. They include the Law of Ukraine "On Innovation Activity," the Law of Ukraine "On Priority Areas of Innovative Activity," the Law of Ukraine "On Priority Directions of Science and Technology Development," the Law of Ukraine "On State Forecasting and Development of Programs of Economic and Social Development of Ukraine." The role of the state in regulating innovations in the legal field is disclosed. Normative legal acts in the field of intellectual property were systematized. The DSTU 3574-97 Patent Formulary is analyzed, covering its basic provisions, the procedure for compilation and design, as well as the DSTU 3575-97 Patent Research, including its basic provisions and the procedure for conducting it. The authors also analyzed the Law of Ukraine "On Effective Management of Property Rights of Rights Holders in the Field of Copyright and (or) Related Rights," the Law of Ukraine "On Copyright and Related Rights," the Constitution of Ukraine, the Civil Code of Ukraine, Presidential Decree No. 299/2017, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On the Formation of the Council on Intellectual Property Issues," and the "Patent Law Agreement."

The article reveals the international framework of political and legal liability of states for committing acts of genocide, ecocide, and using weapons of mass destruction. It is emphasized that these areas form a separate legal responsibility institution within international law. The author emphasizes the lack of unity between theoretical and practical aspects of legal regulation of using weapons of mass destruction, as well as the role that liability plays in the progressive development of law. The paper also highlights topical issues related to the paradigm shifts in modern international law due to the cases of genocide, ecocide, and WMD. The study aims to analyze international legal norms and practices of holding states accountable for the crimes of genocide, ecocide, and use of weapons of mass destruction. The following methods were employed in the course of this research: systemic, comparative legal, historical and legal, structural and functional, and generalization. The article emphasizes that most international crimes are committed with the support or under the control of collective entities, especially states. Nevertheless, international law has tended to impose responsibility for such crimes not only on certain people but also on states. The predominant response of the international community to international crimes was to impose responsibility on specific persons to the extent that it has been directed through international responsibility law. In this regard, it has been symbolized by prosecuting particular criminals through international criminal courts and tribunals.

Introduction. Modern security threats are becoming more and more widespread in the world, intensifying within the borders of the European Union. Migration is increasingly viewed through the prism of security in a particular country or even in the entire region, such as, for instance, European Union. Problem. Ukraine’s European integration aspirations make it necessary to study the common immigration policy of the European Union through the prism of the organizational and legal mechanism for ensuring security in this area. The aim of the study is to define the common immigration policy of the European Union through the prism of the organizational and legal mechanism for ensuring security in this area, as well as formulating proposals for its improvement. Methods. The methods of legal analysis, historical, and systemic analysis are applied. Results. The creation of the Schengen area with a common external border and no internal borders necessitated the adoption of EU supranational legislation, in particular to guarantee the security of this area. Since the Tampere Program in 1999, all five-year development plans have emphasized the security dimensions of migration. The Frontex agency was created to fulfill the goals of the EU’s common immigration policy and to strengthen the protection of the EU’s external border. The introduction of data collection systems contributes to the identification of persons and early warning and prevention of threats. Conclusions. In order to strategically reduce the risks associated with migration, it is important to strengthen the protection of the external border of the EU, intensify the control of the influx of citizens of third countries, and ensure an adequate integration policy. In particular, it is necessary to improve tools for data collection and processing, develop and implement new technologies for detecting illegal migrants, ensuring security at external and internal borders; improve integration policy. Only a comprehensive approach to improving the organizational and legal mechanism for ensuring migration security will help to cope with modern challenges and threats that may cause migration flows to the EU.
