Peccei-Quinn invariant extension of the NMSSM

Abstract: We study a Peccei-Quinn invariant extension of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), which turns out to be free from the tadpole and domain wall problems. Having a non-renormalizable coupling to the axion superfield, the SM singlet added to the Higgs sector can naturally generate an effective Higgs µ term around the weak scale. In the model, the lightest neutralino is dominated by the singlino, which gets a mass only through mixing with the neutral Higgsinos. We explore the phenomenologica… Show more

“…of one singlet [26][27][28][29][30] and of one or more triplet superfields of appropriate hypercharges [31][32][33][34][35][36][37]. In particular, the addition of a Y = 0 hypercharge superfield gives large tree-level as well as one-loop corrections to the Higgs masses, and relaxes the fine tuning problem of the MSSM by requiring a lower SUSY mass scale [38][39][40].…”

“…In this work we respect this limit and do not take λ higher. The cubic singlet coupling κ breaks the global U(1) Peccei-Quinn symmetry [34], and when κ 1 In this version of the NMSSM the formation of cosmological domain walls during electroweak symmetry breaking is a concern. The solution of the domain wall problem has been discussed, amongst others, in refs.…”
