Pd-Ag Alloy Dendritic Nanowires: Fabrication and Application in Hydrogen Sensor

Abstract: Dendritic Pd-Ag alloy nanowires (Pd-Ag DNWs) with different bimetallic composition have been directly self-assembled on the microelectrodes from mixed solutions of palladium and silver ions by applying an alternating current (AC) field. The size and morphology of the final product were controlled via adjusting the electrodeposition parameters and the metal ion concentration ratio. The influence of three factors on the bimetallic composition in alloy nanowires was examined. Structural characterizations suggest … Show more

“…[ 319] Hydrogen sensor Pd-Ag Alloy Nano dendritic wires Hydrogen gas sensors. [ 320] behind their extraordinary catalytic efficacy, a weightier understanding of the origins is still ambiguous for alloy electrocatalysts. As encouraged by HER catalysts, nonprecious-metal-based catalysts accelerate the kinetics of hydrogen evolution and water dissociation.…”

“…The bimetallic NPs have been highly sought for diverse catalytic applications as they have improved activity compared to their monometallic counterparts. Among all the bimetallic nanocatalysts noble metal based bimetallic nanocatalyst have been studied more frequently . However, high cost and scarcity of the noble metals limit their practical applications in large scale processes.…”

“…Pd-Ag coatings are used as contact materials in the electrical engineering industry and as decorative coatings in the jewellery industry. Other applications of Pd-Ag alloys that have been intensively studied in the recent years include H 2 sensing (detecting) [1][2][3][4][5], renewable hydrogen storage material [6] and catalysts for the alcohol oxidation reaction [7,8].…”
