The demand to promote development of Open Educational Resources (OER) in less used languages is relevant all across Europe. Although numerous education resources are available today, their access in the Lithuanian language is very scarce. The aim of the article is to reveal the importance of OER in the Lithuanian language for the development of teachers’ competences. This is crucial to assure the quality of teaching material by providing a possibility to disseminate innovations, to develop creativity and consistency as well as to share created teaching resources. The article is based on scientific literature analysis and descriptive methods. OER in Lithuanian are crucial to assuring the quality of teaching material by providing teachers a possibility to develop their competences, creativity, and consistency as well as to apply innovations and share the designed resources of teaching.

Moksliniai tyrimai pagrindžia informacinių technologijų (toliau-IT) reikšmę ugdymo procese. Tačiau IT taikymas mokymo(si) aplinkoje kelia naujus iššūkius, saugant ir stiprinant jaunesniojo mokyklinio amžiaus vaikų sveikatą. Natūralus vaikų polinkis, poreikis ir IT naudojimas ugdymo(si) procese lemia būtinybę valdyti šį procesą. Straipsnyje siekiama ištirti IT plėtros tendencijas pradiniame ugdyme ir atskleisti vaikų sveikatai palankios mokymo(si) aplinkos kūrimo ypatumus. Anketinės apklausos būdu apklausti 237 Vakarų Lietuvos regiono pradinių klasių mokytojai. Tyrimas atskleidė, kad pradinių klasių mokytojai ir mokiniai nepakankamai aprūpinti IT priemonėmis. Nors kompiuterį savo klasėje turėjo beveik visi mokytojai, o skaitmeninį projektorių-beveik pusė apklaustųjų, tik labai maža dalis mokytojų savo klasėse turėjo interaktyviąją lentą ir planšetinius kompiuterius. Pradinės mokyklos bendram naudojimui yra įsigijusios įvairių IT priemonių, tačiau savo klasėse pradinių klasių mokytojai jų pasigenda. IT priemonių trūkumas klasėje riboja jų naudojimo ugdymo procese galimybes. Tyrimas atskleidė, kad pradinių klasių mokiniai turi žinių apie saugų IT priemonių naudojimą, sveikatos saugojimą dirbant su IT, tačiau turimų žinių netaiko praktiškai. Vaikams reikia išmokti praktinių veiksmų, juos taikyti gyvenimiškose situacijose, mokytis sveikatai palankios elgsenos. Nors daugelis pedagogų mano, kad pradinių klasių mokiniai žino saugaus elgesio naudojantis IT taisykles bei netinkamo naudojimosi IT pasekmes sveikatai, tik trečdalis arba dar mažiau pradinių klasių mokytojų sutiko, kad pradinių klasių mokiniai naudodamiesi IT geba taisyklingai sėdėti prie rašomojo stalo, moka daryti akių pratimus, saugoti regėjimą, derinti akių ir rankų atliekamus judesius ir kt. PAGRINDINIAI ŽODŽIAI: pedagogai, pradinių klasių mokiniai, sveikatai palanki mokymo(si) aplinka, informacinės technologijos.

The development of information technology (IT) in the process of modern primary education poses new challenges for participants in this process. Despite the fact that the development of IT enhances teaching/learning, and makes it modern and attractive, the unrestricted and irresponsible use of IT can have negative consequences for both the physical and the mental health of younger school-age children. The article analyses problems related to features of creating a healthy child-friendly teaching/learning environment in the context of the development of IT in primary education. A total of 237 primary school teachers in western Lithuania were interviewed by means of a written (questionnaire) survey research method. The research results show that a computer is the main IT tool in the primary education environment. Almost all the interviewed teachers had them in their classrooms. Teachers lack in particular interactive boards and tablets. Only a very small number of teachers had them in their classrooms. The teachers interviewed lack more diverse means of IT in their classrooms, which limits the possibilities for using IT in the education process. The results of the research reveal that although primary school students know about safe use and health-care when working with IT, they are not able to apply the available knowledge in practice. Children lack the acquisition of practical actions and skills in applying them in life situations. Only a third, and even fewer teachers, agreed that while using IT children are able to sit correctly at a desk, protect their eyesight, do eye exercises, coordinate eye and hand movements, etc. Therefore, not only are modern means of IT and their safe installation important for the creation of a healthy child-friendly primary teaching/learning environment in the context of IT, but so is the development of safe and healthy child-friendly behaviour with IT: the regulation and distribution of work time with IT at school and at home, the responsible use of IT; not only the provision of knowledge about the use of IT to students, but also the formation of practical skills and their application in life situations.
