Pattern of Bone Generation after Irradiation in Vascularized Tissue Engineered Constructs

Abstract: The study shows for the first time the pattern of bone formation in AVTECs after irradiation using doses comparable to those applied after head and neck cancer. Axial vascularization probably enhances the osteoinductive properties in the central regions of AVTECs after irradiation.

“…Several studies have demonstrated the utility of the axial vascularization concept in tissue-engineered constructs and its ability to promote vascularized tissue formation ( Eweida et al, 2018a ; Eweida et al, 2018b ; Wong et al, 2019 ). However, few studies have examined the suitability of axially vascularized chambers for islet transplantation in the form of an AV shunt ( Maki et al, 1996 ; Brown et al, 2006 ) or bundle ( Knight et al, 2006 ).…”

“…Whether the nerve depends on capillary growth is a prerequisite theory for studying the nerve growth of bone tissue. It is currently believed that nerves play a common role in the nerves of bone tissue [14]. In the process of bone healing, there is a unique neurological aid, which occurs earlier than capillary growth, and the development of peptide nerves is closely related to capillary growth.…”
