Abstract:Background: The novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is straining Intensive Care Units’ (ICU) capacities worldwide. It was demonstrated that the ICU mortality rate from Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is higher than from other viral pneumonia.
