In the past three decades, several studies have extracted antecedents to the user adoption of health information systems (HIS). This study proposes a reflective pause on the HIS adoption literature to broaden our understanding of factors contributing to the user adoption of electronic medical record (EMR). This paper provides a comprehensive taxonomy of the factors influencing the user adoption of EMR and classifies these factors into meaningful categories. We searched the selected keywords on several academic databases and found an initial set of 9,684 studies. We excluded papers on the basis of their title, abstract, and full text (89 remaining papers). The effectiveness of adoption theories has been explored based on the empirical results identified in the EMR research. Furthermore, according to the conceptualization of the factors in the literature, a list of 78 factors affecting EMR adoption was identified. These factors were classified to eight categories: individual factors, psychological factors, behavioural factors, environmental factors, organizational factors, financial factors, legal factors, and technical factors. The results have implications for researchers and practitioners, including policymakers, marketers, information technology (IT) professionals, health information management (HIM) practitioners, health practice managers, and EMR system developers.

The aim of this paper is to inform both healthcare practitioners and software solutions creators about the ways in which the Hospital Information Systems (HIS) can and should be extended, both in terms of managing, processing and learning from the data, keeping in mind the sustainable modern technologies available for automation and machine learning. The paper provides details on how ensembles can be implemented and integrated into HIS and also provide the details for the necessary hardware and integrating that hardware to facilitate automation. The paper's target audience is primarily developing countries where these systems, which are yet to become sophisticated, could have a huge social impact.

Nowadays, health care is one of the most important subjects in life. In USA, 100 billion dollars will be spent on it in the next 10 years, according to experts. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is usually a computerized legal medical record created in an organization that delivers care, such as hospital and doctors' surgery. In the age of technology, one of the most important factors for EMR is that it secures the records for the patients, protects their rights and is responsible for the disclosure of their data. An overview of this study has presented the importance of the privacy of the EMR and the patients' rights. In addition, cryptography algorithms and security requirements have been discussed and the paper has also discussed different architecture, designs and systems that have been reported in the literature. In a nutshell, most of these systems are poor in terms of achieving the security requirements, while on the other side, most of the systems have not discussed the patients' rights and how the system can detect the persons who broadcast these records.
