“…Agranular endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria and well developed Golgi complex were the most prominent organelles in the cytoplasm of interstitial cells of the contralateral scrotal testes and the testes of the normal bucks. Abundance of these organelles has been demonstrated as a characteristic feature of steroid synthesizing cells (Shima et al, 2013a,b;Robic et al, 2014). It seems logical that the elaborate nature of these organelles in the contralateral scrotal testes, and the observed hyperplasia of interstitial cells are indications of increased steroid secretory and metabolic activities of the interstitial cells.…”
