Pathophysiology of atypical femoral fractures and osteonecrosis of the jaw

Abstract: In recent years, atypical femoral fractures and osteonecrosis of the jaw have emerged as potential complications of long-term bisphosphonate therapy; osteonecrosis of the jaw has also been reported in patients receiving high doses of denosumab.
