“…The spectrum ranges from benign plasma cell proliferation with a-chain (immunoglobulin heavy chain) production (a-chain disease) to malignant lymphoma. Not every case of lymphoma has detectable a chains, but the epidemiology of the lymphoma and of a-chain disease is the same [3] and progression from a-chain disease to lymphoma is described [44], suggesting that they are part of the saine disorder.
