Pathogenesis and Virulence of Chlamydia Trachomatis

Abstract: The pathogenesis of C. trachomatis disease is a multi-step process that includes: (1) infectivity and exposure to the organism (2) Susceptibility to infection and sickness related to the host's genetic makeup. Recurrence and chronic infections are also common in at-risk teenage and young adult groups.
