Abstract: This study aimed to assess the prevalence of depression in middle-aged and elderly patients with diabetes in China, determine the risk factors of depression in these patients, and explore the internal relationship between influencing factors and depression by constructing a pathway model. “…Income was statistically significant only in the ‘Depression/Anxiety’ dimension among EQ-5D but not a factor affecting health utility value of residents in the tobit models. For all respondents, higher incomes were associated with better mental and self-rated health scores, For the low-income group, their poor economic conditions, higher psychological burden and stress levels [ 30 ], inadequate knowledge and awareness of mental health, less access to mental health services led to vulnerability to depression/anxiety. The government should pay attention to the health status of people living with poverty and illness, the sense of access in the pursuit of a better life and think about how to give this group of people the ability, opportunity and confidence to live happily from the level of policy formulation and implementation.…”

“…However, we need to know that income, diabetes duration, sleep duration, pain pressure, health self-assessment, and glycemic control directly affect depression in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients, while age, frequency of blood glucose monitoring, and glycemic control awareness exercises have a direct effect indirect. 2 The study conducted by Ning Yan et al used the Social Capital measurement scale method and the capital epidemiological survey depression scale (CES-D), both of which were used to test the moderation model. Meanwhile, to determine the subject of research using probability proportionate to size (PPS) sampling method.…”
