Patent ductus arteriosus ligation and adverse outcomes: Causality or bias?

Abstract: Observational studies have associated patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ligation in preterm infants with increased chronic lung disease (CLD), retinopathy of prematurity, and neurodevelopmental impairment at long-term follow-up.
