Hydrological behavior in reforested watersheds is different from that under other forms of cover. The variation may be related to aspects intrinsic to species, planting density, physiological maturity, management system and climatic conditions. Periodically, climatic anomalies such as the case of La Ninã are observed, and these are responsible for the alteration of the rainfall regime and consequently generate water deficits in the southern region of Brazil. Water deficit is responsible for reducing growth and productivity for the Eucalyptus genus, in addition to causing changes in hydrological behavior in reforested watersheds. Accordingly, this study compared the partition of rainfall in throughfall, stemflow and canopy interception of eucalyptus trees submitted or not to partial exclusion of precipitation. In the open field, 3 rainfall collectors were installed, and in the stand, for each rain exclusion treatment, 9 throughfall collectors and 9 stemflow collectors were installed. Every two weeks for 12 months, the volume of the collectors was measured. The quantified precipitation was 1627 mm over a year. In the treatment without exclusion, 84.8, 2.9 and 12.3% referred to throughfall, stemflow and canopy interception, respectively, while in the treatment excluding rainfall 80.6, 2.3 and 17.2% referred to throughfall, stemflow and canopy interception. The regression adjustments for throughfall and stemflow showed satisfactory R2 coefficients.

As relações entre recomposição florestal e os processos hidrológicos são pouco estudadas. Áreas plantadas com espécies arbóreas são importantes para se avaliar a repartição da chuva ao nível das copas. Com esse propósito foi selecionada uma área reflorestada com cerca de 70 anos de idade na Estação Experimental de Tupi, onde demarcou-se uma parcela de 400 m2. Foram identificadas 11 espécies arbóreas dentre 40 árvores existentes, sendo 39 nativas e apenas uma exótica. Todos os eventos de precipitação foram registrados com pluviômetros feitos com garrafas plásticas PET de 2 L; quatro em área aberta, 25 no interior da floresta para a transprecipitação e para a determinação do escoamento pelo tronco das árvores foram instalados três coletores de espuma de poliuretano. A interceptação foi estimada pela equação do balanço hídrico do dossel. No período de 1 ano foram realizadas 60 coletas de chuva, totalizando 1.522,0 mm de precipitação. Em média, 15,3% da precipitação total foi interceptada pela floresta, 80,4% atravessaram o dossel pela transprecipitação e 4,3% como escoamento pelo tronco, totalizando 84,7% de precipitação efetiva. Houve diferença estatisticamente significativa para as perdas por interceptação entre os períodos chuvoso e seco, com os maiores valores na época das chuvas. Análises de regressão linear indicaram correlação positiva alta entre a precipitação total, tanto para a transprecipitação (R2 > 0,9) quanto para o escoamento pelo tronco (R2 > 0,8), e média para a precipitação total e a interceptação (R2 próximo a 0,6). Os resultados mostram que após cerca de 70 anos de sua implantação, o processo de repartição da chuva possui valores compatíveis aos encontrados em floresta estacional semidecidual.

The present work aims to quantify the precipitation partition after interaction with the Eucalyptus urophylla canopy under two fertilization treatments. The experimental design was completely causalized with two fertilization treatments. Each plot had a dimension of 30 m x 60 m, and the spacing of the seedlings was 3 m x 2 m. The study was developed in a arenizaded area located in the municipality of Maçambará, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The duration of the study was one year (from April 2017 to March 2018). Biweekly over twelve months the volume of precipitation was quantified. The experiment consists of two fertilization treatments in a Eucalyptus urophylla stand: T1 with smaller and T2 greater fertilization. In each treatment 3 throughfall collectors were installed at one meter of the soil level and three stemflow collectors. In the open area 3 collectors of the incident precipitation were installed 1.5 meters from the ground level. The percentages of the throughfall, stemflow and canopy interception in relation to the incident precipitation were 95.3; 1.3 and 4.3% for treatment 1 and 91.7; 3.2 and 6.2% for treatment 2. The coefficients of determination for throughfall, stemflow and canopy interception were 0.99; 0.96 and 0.85 for treatment 1 and 0.99; 0.97 and 0.89 for treatment 2. The graphical analysis of the regression residues shows independence of the errors. The fertilization management described for treatment 2 results in a greater interception of rainfall due to the greater amount of biomass of the canopy.
