The study investigates the contextual correlates of sustainable practices at Anao-Kiling Elementary School, emphasizing human values as dominant factors in environmental stewardship. Specifically, this study aims to assess the level of environmental awareness, identify environmental issues, explore practiced behaviors, and examine challenges faced by students. Using a descriptive-normative research design, data was collected from 36 Grade 6 pupils through structured questionnaires. Frequency count and percentage distribution, weighted mean, Pearson-r correlation, and Chi-Square test were used to analyze the data. Results show that most respondents had access to smartphones, indicating a certain level of economic stability. Environmental care programs were implemented in many schools, and pollution and overpopulation were considered moderately serious issues. Both technology-based and non-technology-based activities showed a slightly aware level of environmental awareness. The findings also revealed that the respondents demonstrated practiced behaviors and exhibited human values like respect and honesty. Challenges faced included miscommunication about waste segregation policies and a lack of enthusiasm for clean-up activities. The statistical analysis indicated no significant correlation between environmental issues and human values, nor between environmental awareness and confronting environmental problems. Moreover, socioeconomic factors do not relate to the level of environmental care practices. To foster sustainable behaviors among students, regardless of socioeconomic status, it is essential to integrate environmental values and practices into school curricula. It is recommended that schools prioritize environmental education and enhance communication regarding waste segregation policies to promote a culture of environmental stewardship.

Purpose – The present study investigates the relationship between innovative work behavior (IWB) and socially responsible leadership (SRL). The role of psychological safety in this relationship is also further explored in this study.Design/methodology/approach – Data were gathered from Ugandan public universities for this study. For this study, 214 employees were invited to take part. The research hypotheses were evaluated using Processes Macro and Amos.Findings – SRL has been found to effectively improve followers' Innovative work behaviour using data from Ugandan public universities. Furthermore, the primary impact of SRL on IWB of staff in public universities is mediated by psychological safety.Originality/value – This is one of the first studies to look into the relationship between followers' IWB and SRL and the mediating role of psychological safety among employees. Secondly, by investigating the mediation of psychological safety, this study expands our knowledge that binds SRL to IWB. In conclusion, our study draws from data gathered in Uganda and may offer novel perspectives to the predominantly western literature currently in circulation.

In sustainable and competitive business management, it is crucial for organizations to consider organizational change and transformational leadership in human resource (HR) management to adapt to the changes in their environment. This capability enables large-scale enterprises to maintain their presence in an increasingly competitive environment through enhanced management capacity. Enterprises that adopt transformational leadership in HR management must equip leadership candidates with competencies such as creating a shared vision, providing appropriate role models, encouraging the adoption of group goals, meeting high performance expectations, and providing individual support and the development of intellectual stimulation. By identifying potential leadership candidates using a decision support model, the necessary competencies can be developed through in-service training and experiential learning during their careers. Innovative and effective approaches to identifying leadership candidates can be developed by analyzing complex big data using advanced artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. In this article, a forecast model using machine learning (ML) algorithms for a human resource management career planning approach was developed for the Turkish Post Corporation (PTT) and it was tested to predict potential leadership candidates by analyzing the big data of 5000 employees. The Turkish Post Corporation ML algorithms were applied to 100 randomly selected data points using the k-Nearest Neighbor (kNN), Random Forest (RF), Gradient Boosting (GB), and Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithms to predict the types of titles held by the staff employed at PTT. The kNN, GB, RF, and SVM algorithms achieved accuracy rates of 96%, 91%, 73%, and 41%, respectively. The case study results indicate that promotion decisions in large-scale and rooted enterprises can be effectively modeled using big data and ML algorithms, highlighting significant potential for HR management and leadership development practices in the public sector.
