Partial widths for the decays η:(1295) →γγ and η:(1440) →γγ

Abstract: We discuss γγ partial widths of pseudoscalar/isoscalar mesons η(M ) in the mass region M ∼ 1000 − 1500 MeV. The transition amplitudes η(1295) → γγ and η(1440) → γγ are studied within an assumption that the decaying mesons are the members of the first radial excitation nonet 2 1 S0qq. The calculations show that partial widths being of the order of 0.1 keV are dominantly due to the nn meson component while the contribution of the ss component is small.14.40. Aq, 13.40.Fn, 13.40.Hq

“…f 0 (1200 − 1600): The broad state is the descendant of the primary glueball. The analysis of hadronic decays of this resonance confirmed its glueball nature: the glueball descendant has the quark-antiquark component (qq) glueball = (uū + dd + √ λss)/ √ 2 + λ [21], which is defined by the probability to create new qq-pairs by the gluon field uū : dd : ss = 1 : 1 : λ, the suppression parameter for the production of strange quarks being in the interval λ ≃ 0.5 − 0.8 [22,23]. In terms of mixing angle for the nn and ss components, this means that the glueball descendant must have ϕ glueball ≃ 27…”

“…In Section 3.8, we present more detailed narration of the study of analytical structure of the amplitude at the region s ∼ 0 − 4m 2 π , with the restoration of the left-hand singularities obeying equations (20) and (21); this topic is related to the light σ-meson problem.…”

“…Analyses of this type are pursued by the GWU/INS (SAID) approach in the Chew-Mandelstam formulation [77,78], by the Bonn-Gatchina group in the N/D formulation [147,148], and by the Kent State [149] and the Zagreb [150] groups in the Carnegie-Mellon-Berkeley (CMB) formulation. The Gießen group uses a K-matrix formalism [151,152], while the MAID approach employs a unitary isobar approach in which the final-state interaction is taken from the SAID approach [79].…”
