Partial Information Relaying with Per Antenna Superposition Coding

Abstract: Abstract-In this letter we propose per antenna superposition coding (PASC) by which partial information can be relayed instead of full information, to exploit the higher capacity of source-relay-destination link. Here, the PASC is designed across antennas, producing basic layer and superposed layer for each data stream per antenna. It is shown that an overall data rate of partial information relaying with PASC can be increased beyond that offered by full information relaying by virtue of fast forwarding of par… Show more

“…Contrary to the dynamic CF based protocol, the protocol in [10] does not require global CSI at relay but DMT in multi-relay networks where relays interfere with one another was not addressed well. As a practical alternative of CF, partial information forwarding for halfduplex relay was proposed in [11], [12]. In addition to CF and QM, network coding can be used for cooperative diversity, and there are various studies on cooperative diversity using network coding [13]- [15].…”

“…A proper power allocation to basic and superposed data for rate maximization was investigated. This work was extended to multiple-antenna relay networks when the perfect CSI is not available at the source, and partial-information relaying with per-antenna superposition coding was first proposed in [17] by taking into account interstream interference and power allocation between basic and superposed data. In [18], the authors proposed partial-information relaying based on stream control and developed a simple linear precoding scheme for partialinformation relaying when the CSI is available at the source.…”
