“…Children younger than 11 years were not interviewed because there is evidence that their reports are not reliable (Schwab-Stone et al 1994). Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) was excluded from the child protocol due to its poor reliability in child reports (Jensen et al 1999). In the present research the following diagnoses were ascertained: ADHD, social phobia, panic disorder, separation anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, dysthimic disorder, ODD, and conduct disorder.…”

“…Although in our previous report (Canino et al 2004) we combined parent and child reports for children aged 11-17 years, in the present study we used parental reports only when estimating prevalence. Unlike children 11-17, younger participants were not interviewed with the DISC-IV and we wanted to compare prevalence rates across age- Bravo et al 2001; Schwab-Stone et al 1994;Jensen et al 1999). Logistic regression was used to estimate both crude and adjusted odds ratios when examining the correlates and patterns of comorbidity of ADHD.…”

“…Research has also investigated informant disagreement with regard to specific childhood externalizing problems (aggression, hyperactivity/inattention and oppositional behavior) and revealed low to moderate levels of informant agreement as well [20,25,26,30].…”

“…For report of behavioural symptoms, parent report alone has been shown to be more valid that youth alone (Jensen et al, 1999). This approach may have limited the ability to disentangle the subdimensions, particularly of IR and AN, where the child may have a differing opinion as to the presence or severity of their symptoms (Angold & Costello, 1996).…”
