Paraxial theory of supercritical wave phase conjugation in a realistic magnetoacoustic conjugator

Abstract: A recent theory of supercritical phase conjugation gives explicitly the paraxial analytical solution for a completely active conjugator in contact with arbitrary media. This letter extends the theory to the more realistic case of a limited active zone inside a conjugator in contact with arbitrary media. This configuration describes more accurately the experimental situations in ultrasonic parametric phase conjugation. The main practical result is the possibility of adjustable artificial impedance
