Parathyroid hormone: an early predictor of symptomatic hypocalcemia after total thyroidectomy

Abstract: Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate if the measurement of peri-operative parathyroid hormone (PTH) is able to identify patients with increased risk of developing symptoms of hypocalcemia.
