Summary
The heterogeneity of dermatophyte strains, isolated from pathologic infection foci of patients were investigated by aid of a biometric method. The results proved that the populations could be heterogenous. In some strains the heterogeneity was visible already in the culture, in others it could be observed only after on objective analysis of final results, or it appeared only after an alteration of experimental conditions under the influence of a selective pressure. The properties of the obtained variants were hereditary. It was discussed, that a study of the biological variants of dermatophyte strains can contribute to the explanation of some factors in the life manifestation of these fungi.
