“…In Greek literature, paranoia was often used to describe madness in general or thinking amiss (Akhtar, 1990;Lewis, 1970;Manschreck, 1979). Various formulations through the 1700s attempted to define conditions which had exhibited some aspects of paranoia, but none received the attention that was accorded to Heinroth's (1818) conceptualization (Akhtar, 1990;Lewis, 1970;Tanna, 1974).
