Parameters of the Electron Beams Generated by the РАДАН-220 and РА ДАН-ЭКСПЕРТ Accelerators

Abstract: The measured parameters of the electron beams generated by small-sized nanosecond direct-action êÄÑÄç-220 and êÄÑÄç-ùäëèÖêí accelerators are presented. The measuring techniques and the designs of electron detectors developed for this purpose are described. The fluence of electrons and the energy density, uniformity, and energy spectrum of the electron beam have been measured. Fig. 1. External appearance of the êÄÑÄç-ùäëèÖêí accelerator.

“…The spectra of electron beams are measured with magnetic spectrometers (Bugaev et al, 1974;Mangles et al, 2004;Li et al, 2006) and time-of-flight spectrometers (Gloeckler & Hsieh, 1979). The spectra of nano-and subnanosecond electron beams are also measured with the use of different methods (Bugaev et al, 1974;Afanasiev et al, 2005;Baksht et al, 2007), including the measurements of beam current attenuation in foils of different thickness (Baksht et al, 2010). Now, the most divergent spectral measurement data are those for supershort avalanche electron beams (SAEBs) produced in point-to-plane gaps in atmospheric pressure air.…”

“…Cathodoluminescence (CL) was excited by a RADAN-EXPERT [13,14] accelerator with energies of particles in the range 100 -300 keV, a pulse duration of ∼20 ns [15], and the electron flux up to 10 12 particles per pulse. For kinetic measurements, CL was collected by a quartz optical fiber and directed into the entrance slit of a Solar TII MS2005 monochromator with the diffraction grating (1200 gr/mm).…”

“…Для измерения кривых термостимулированной люминесценции (ТСЛ), а также для изучения радиационной деградации образцы облучали импульсным источником ускоренных электронов РАДАН-ЭКСПЕРТ (энергия электронов 90−240 keV, длительность импульса 2 ns, флюэнс 5 · 10 11 электронов за 1 импульс [48]). Кривые ТСЛ измеряли с помощью считывателя термолюминесцентных детекторов ДВГ-2М ( " Доза").…”
