Paramagnetic Radicals in Nitrate Doped Potassium Chloride

Abstract: This study concerns two paramagnetic resonance spectra found at room temperature in X‐ray irradiated KCl doped in the melt with KNO3. One spectrum could be ascribed to a NO molecule, probably in an anion vacancy, and the other to a N 2− molecular ion in an anion vacancy, both having approximately axial symmetry around a [100] direction.
