Abstract:Parallel computer simulation of heat transfer in parts of the human body is described. Realistic geometric models and tissues with different thermodynamic properties are analyzed. The principal steps of the computer simulations, including mathematical and geometric modeling, domain discretization, numerical solution, validation of simulated results, and visualization, are described. An explicit finite difference method for the inhomogeneous computational domain has been developed and tested on the diffusion eq… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
