The present chapter aims to understand how the textbook proposes the work with oral genres and if the proposals presented in it enable the appropriation of these genres by the student, since the oral, proposed by the educational guidelines as one of the fundamental axes for the teaching of mother tongue, remains, still, secondary and far from reaching the status of teaching object. To do so, we adopt the enunciative-discursive perspective and elect dialogic discourse analysis as the methodology to analyze the corpus. The selected corpus is the didactic collection "Se Liga na Língua, 2018", adopted in the PNLD 2019. Preliminary results evidenced the scarcity of oral genres suggested in the didactic material and signalize the need to search for additional learning resources and adequate teacher training in order that the oral dimension, determinant for the subjective, communicational and social formation of the student, becomes more present in everyday school life.
