Paperless Precepting

Abstract: This article presents the process of harnessing technology to develop a structured and consistent competency-based orientation program across a large health system. The electronic initial competency assessment tool provides convenient access to standardized practice resources while tracking the completion of initial competencies. Implementation of such a tool can provide nursing professional development practitioners with efficiency, alignment across clinical areas, and effective resource utilization.
