Abstract:The possibility of paper‐chromatographic identification of mixtures of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons has been studied. In order to decrease the hydrophilic character of filter paper, it was either acetylated or impregnated with alumina, propylene glycol, Vaseline or silicone.
The systems studied were: anthracene and methylated anthracenes; fluorene and methylated fluorenes; phenanthrene, fluorene and anthracene; mixtures of tricyclic and of polycyclic hydrocarbons (found in the ‘chrysene fraction’). Some su… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
