The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted all forms of social life, including the education sector. As part of the efforts to keep the virus at bay, onsite instruction was suspended in 188 countries across the globe, jeopardizing the educational goals of over 91% of the world's student population. Online learning emerged as an ultimate solution to the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The main challenge of most developing countries, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa, is to ensure effective online learning across all levels of education. The lack of funds, infrastructure, effective e-learning systems, ICT gadgets, and other challenges hindered the online learning in most developing countries from achieving its intended goal. With the realization that the COVID-19 may not die out soon and the prospect of a vaccine, Ghana, like many countries, resumed onsite instruction in early 2021. The study employed a phenomenological approach through personal interviews to explore the experiences of 20 tertiary students who were the first batch of students to be part of the temporal resumption of tertiary education in Ghana. From the analysis, it was observed that universities educated their staff and students on COVID-19. Nonetheless, there were contextual challenges with; the provision of personal protective equipment (PPEs), engagement in digital learning, parent-teacher collaboration, psychological health service, and course completion. The study discusses school preparedness plan of universities for resumption and draws from the literature to outline ten strategic ways to reopen schools.

Trong nghiên cứu mới đây về “Ảnh hưởng của COVID-19 tới sự lo âu của sinh viên đại học tại Trung Quốc” trên tạp chí Frontiers in Psychology, hai tác giả Chongying Wang và Hong Zhao (2020) đã phần cuối của bảng khảo sát để người trả lời viết một câu duy nhất về điều mà các em lo ngại nhất. Một trong những từ khoá xuất hiện nhiều nhất là “bắt đầu học kì mới”.Những mùa hè của tuổi học trò như những thảo nguyên đầy màu sắc, những khoảng nghỉ chân của người lữ khách bỗng trở nên ngắn lại. Nỗi buồn là điều khó tránh khỏi khi ta phải xa rời những gì vốn đã quá thân thuộc, ví dụ như một kỳ nghỉ hè. Những mùa hè nào có bao giờ đến và đi một mình mà không để lại những vấn vương đầu đời, những giấc mơ viển vông và cả hoài bão khám phá. Ấy thế mà các thứ hành lý kí gửi ấy bỗng chốc trở nên mong manh và bất định bởi COVID-19. Những giấc mơ không chỉ tuột khỏi tay mà còn bị thế chỗ bởi các mối lo âu, sợ hãi bất chợt và thậm chí sẽ còn tồn tại dai dẳng. Cảm xúc khi phải xa rời một thứ tưởng chừng đã thân mà lại chưa thuộc về mình thật khó để được gọi tên.

The COVID-19 pandemic has become a global health disaster since March 2020 and has had a significant impact on education. The education system forced to change from a face-to-face learning model to a virtual one to reduce the spread of COVID-19. These extraordinary conditions that lasted no less than one year give various responses from both teachers and learners perspectives. This study examines secondary school teachers and learners perspectives regarding education in the future post, Covid-19 pandemic. This paper used the descriptive method by qualitative approach. Furthermore, this study was conducted by distributing online questionnaires from 5 provinces in Indonesia, involving 40 teachers and 28 learners. The results of this study indicate that (1) e-learning has not fully accommodated some educational values that can be transmitted through classical learning process only, (2) direct interaction are the most lost value during e-learning, (3) the sustainability of e-learning depends on the readiness of resources and infrastructure, and (4) blended learning is the suitable learning model for future education. From the result of these studies, identifying the suitable blended learning model for future education sustainability in every level of education is essential to be further studies as the stakeholder's reference in implementation learning models.
