Abstract: Cystic fibrosis is a monogenic and autosomal recessive disease. It is caused by mutations in the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator gene responsible for encoding the CFTR protein.Involvement of the gastrointestinal and respiratory systems is the main clinical manifestation.
