Pancreas-Kidney Transplantation for Intensivists: Perioperative Care and Complications

Abstract: Simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation is a therapeutic option for type I diabetics with end-stage renal disease. It aims to correct the uremic state, to normalize glucose hemeostasis, and to ameliorate diabetic complications.
