“…Moreover, active components from Sweroside, 75 Paeoniflorin, 77,79 and Ganjiang 12 mainly reverse AC‐induced alterations in the expressions of calcium regulatory proteins (RyR2, SERCA, and NCX, dihydropteridine reducta‐α1 [DHPR‐a1]) to Ca 2+ overload and related cardiotoxic effects. In recent, Ginseng has been identified to enhance the function of the key efflux transporter P‐glycoprotein (P‐gp, also named MDR1), which limits the absorption of its substrates, like AC, to decrease circulatory AC concentration and its subsequent cardiotoxicity 88‐90 . But Glycyrrhiza exerts an opposite effect on the function of P‐gp 90 .…”

But Glycyrrhiza exerts an opposite effect on the function of P‐gp 90 . Overall, the combination use of AC‐containing herbs with other drugs is an effective manner to weaken the toxicity and strengthen the efficacy of AC.…”
