Palladium nanoparticle supported on nitrogen‐doped porous carbon: Investigation of structural properties and catalytic activity on Suzuki–Miyaura reactions

Abstract: Novel palladium-doped nanoporous carbon composite material obtained via thermolysis of amorphous zeolitic imidazolate framework (aZIF) was synthesized and used as an efficient catalyst on Suzuki-Miyaura crosscoupling reactions of aryl bromides. With this developed catalytic system, the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction was accomplished in aqueous solutions, and biaryls were obtained in good to excellent yields in a short reaction time. The APC-750@Pd catalyst was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrare… Show more

“…The rate constants ( K app ) of Cu/Co@NPC were found to be 1.064, 0.048, and 0.706 min −1 for 4‐NP, 3‐NP, and 2,4‐DNP (Figure 11a–c). In our previous work, [ 8 ] K app and the mass‐normalized rate constants K m ( K m = K app / m cat ) (min −1 mg −1 ) were calculated as 0.122 min −1 and 0.0406 min −1 mg −1 , respectively, for 4‐NP in the presence of the Co@NPC@ZIF‐12 catalyst. In this work, the K m was calculated as 0.594, 0.0268, and 0.394 min −1 mg −1 for 4‐NP, 3‐NP, and 2,4‐DNP, respectively, over the Cu/Co@NPC catalyst.…”

“…In addition, due to the properties of MOF mentioned above, they are regarded as a unique template and carbon source for porous carbon (PC) structures obtained by pyrolysis of MOFs. [ 39,42,51,52 ] Therefore, PC and nitrogen‐doped PC (NPC) materials have been attracted considerable attention as novel and versatile, functional materials. N‐doping can develop the chemical, electrical, and functional properties of carbon materials.…”
