Palladium(II) Pyridinecarboxaldimine Complexes Derived from Unsaturated Amines

Abstract: Pyridinecarboxaldimines (N-N¢) derived from pyridin-2-ylcarboxaldehydes and unsaturated amines add to [PdCl 2 (coe)] 2 (coe = cis-cyclooctene) to give complexes of the type PdCl 2 (N-N¢) in moderate yields. The palladium complexes have been investigated as substrates for hydroboration reactions and as antifungal agents against Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, Candida albicans, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

“…[97] Compound 176 acts as a substrate for secondary reactivity and was also evaluated for antifungal potentials against A. niger, A. flavus, C. albicans and S. cerevisiae, where it was found to be prominent antifungal agent (Amphotericin B was used as standard in the study). [98] A series of nine lipophilic Pd complexes with iminopyridine derivatives were synthesized and tested for antimicrobial efficiency. [99] Most of the compounds were inactive against the tested strains, mechanistic study of these compounds is needed to know abot the reason of inefficiency, so that further research line is clarified.…”
