“…In all of these organized phases, the surfactant concentration was fixed at 0.3 mol L −1 (weight fraction 20%) as for SANS, NMR, and DLS analyses, and the weight fractions of IL were 12, 18, 20, and 37% in phases I−IV, respectively. In this study, two palladium catalysts were used, Pd 2 (dba) 3 ·CHCl 3 and a chiral compound bis[( R )-1-phenylethylpyridinium)] tetrachloropalladate (abbreviated [Pyr] 2 [PdCl 4 ] and shown in Figure S5 in Supporting Information), prepared as previously described. , The latter was used to test for potential chirality transfer from the catalyst.…”

“…The elemental analyses suggest that a small amount of the other form of the anion is formed in the bulk samples of 1 and 6, since the calculated values are somewhat higher than the measured ones (approximately 2% w.r.t. carbon mass%) in the case of the monomeric compound (1) and lower for the dimeric (6). Powder diffraction analysis does not show the existence of mixtures in either compound 1 or 6, since no visible peaks of the other form are observed in either structure.…”

“…The structural properties of quaternary (including pyridinium and imidazolium) ammonium (QA) halidometallates, typically QA 2 MX 4 (where M ¼ Fe, Co, Ni, Cu or Zn), have been widely studied because of their ability to undergo phase transitions, to possess thermochromic behavior and the tendency to exhibit both liquid and liquid crystalline states. [1][2][3][4][5][6] Quaternary ammonium salts have also been successfully established as precipitating agents for platinum group metals. 7 By altering either the cation or the halidometallate anion there are limitless possibilities of tuning the different properties of QA 2 MX 4 compounds.…”

“…22 [Pyr] 2 [PdCl 4 ] was prepared using the protocol given by Tourneux and al. 23 The measurements of optical rotations were performed at 20°C in a Perkin-Elmer 241 Polarimeter (Na lamp, λ = 589 nm). Conversion percents of reactant and yields of reaction were determined by HPLC on a Waters Alliance 2695 HPLC system (Waters Corp., Milford, MA, USA) composed of a quaternary gradient pumping system with vacuum degasser.…”
