“…Most cases have been associated with rheumatoid arthritis. 8 We have observed that the cutaneous eruption can be seen in patients with CSS. Peripheral blood findings, as well as these initial cutaneous clinical and histologic findings, are hallmark manifestations of CSS, and their presence should prompt the clinician to consider this diagnosis.…”

“…Tlacuilo-Parra et al 7 similarly reported cutaneous manifestations, including palpable purpura, petechiae, nodules, maculopapules, and livedo reticularis, in approximately 51% of patients with CSS. Some reports 3,8 have suggested that clinical papules and nodules on the elbows in patients with CSS are compatible with histologic palisading granulomas in association with vessel-based changes. Sangueza et al 8 described the lesions as palisaded neutrophilic granulomatous dermatitis.…”

“…These lesions are varied and encompass a number of entities, some of which are relatively frequent and specific to RA, such as rheumatoid nodules, whereas others are unusual, such as rheumatoid neutrophilic dermatitis 1 and palisaded neutrophilic granulomatous dermatitis. 2 Recently, a characteristic cutaneous lesion described with the term ''intravascular or intralymphatic histiocytosis'' has been proposed as a new entity among RA-related dermatoses. [3][4][5][6][7] Clinically, all lesions develop on the skin in the vicinity of involved joints as irregular erythematous plaques, with or without livedo-like pattern, papular elements, or small vesicles.…”

“…Although typically associated with collagen degeneration, the histopathologic pattern can be varied, and necrobiosis may be absent. 5,6 Palisaded neutrophilic and granulomatous dermatitis (described by Chu et al 6 ), in its early stage, can demonstrate pandermal infiltrates of neutrophils. The condition is associated with various immune complex-mediated illnesses, including collagen vascular disease, systemic vasculitis, lymphoproliferative disorders, bacterial endocarditis, Wegener granulomatosis, and inflammatory bowel disease, and presents as an eruption of papules and plaques on the extremities.…”
