“…In Egypt, the Eocene ostracods have been studied and investigated by numerous researchers (Abdallah, Helal, & Abdel Aziz, 2002;Abd-Elshafy, El-Fawal, Ismail, & Mattar, 2007;Abd-Elshafy, Ismail, & Abu-Ellil, 2000;Allam, Shamah, & Zalat, 1991;Bassiouni, Boukhary, Shamah, & Blondeau, 1984;Bassiouni, Hamza, & Morsi, 1994;Cronin & Khalifa, 1979;El Baz & Khalil, 2019;Hewaidy, Morsi, & Samir, 2015;Morsi, 1991;Morsi, Faris, Zalat, & Salem, 2008;Shahin, 2000Shahin, , 2005Shahin, El Halaby, & El Baz, 2008;Shamah & Helal, 1993). On the regional scale, other researchers such as Honigstein, Rosenfeld, and Benjamini (1991) dealt with ostracods and foraminifera from the Early-Middle Eocene of Qeren Sartaba area in Jordan Valley, which could coincide with the Egyptian ostracods.…”

“…Among the researchers who investigated the Middle Eocene ostracods (Lutetian-Bartonian) in the Qattamiya area along the Cairo-Suez district are Shahin et al (2008) and El Baz and Khalil (2019). Shahin et al (2008) identified 47 ostracod species, which contributed to estimate the palaeodepth of the studied sediments and palaeobiogeography of the recorded ostracods.…”
